Disadvantages: None really, slightly runnier than I expected but caused no problem to use. Excellent paint.

I was looking for a black etch primer for corrosion resistance on steel and aluminium. I was aware of this class of paint from working in the automotive component industry but only wanted small quantities.
Very pleased with satin finish on Paragon Enamel Paints black etch primer.
Didn't want the thick enamel coating of Hammerite paints.


Advantages: When thinned with PT3 thinners was able to achieve a reasonable coat thickness with little tendancy to form tears. Dried to a pleasing dull satin finish.
Contrary to advice on the tin I was able to use a normal paint brush which I cleaned after soaking using the rather expensive thinnners.

Disadvantages: Disadvantage 1. Rather poor shelf life so buy in small quantities. However, despite treacly consistency I still got a satisfactory finish by thinning after about 2 years in pretty full tin. Despite the thick, treacly consistency, the paint film spread evenly leaving no brush marks.
Disadvantage 2. The Thinners is very volatile so needs to be stored in very airtight container.
Also make sure you buy enough for thinning plus any brush / painting equipment cleaning.

I have not used the paint yet but the service I received was superb, as was the packaging of the paint. We have problems in the hobby area where Royal Mail will not carry 14mil tins of paint as they are dangerous, yet you can secure a 500 mil can in a package so well that you would need an artillery shell to cause a problem in transit.

Disadvantages: I can't think of any.

Excellent paint. i had the gloss version. Extremely good coverage in just one coat, runs are virtually non existent. Would deffo recommend

Arrived on time and, as with the rest of the Paragon range, it’s quite easy to use. I found it better to thin about 20% with HVLP to achieve a noticeable hammer finish. Colour shade a little brighter than the online picture.

Advantages: Easy to use and a durable finish with good coverage of less than perfect preparation.

Disadvantages: Unusual response to flatting with wet and dry. I found that dry fine aloe produced better results.

To be perfectly honest I had never heard of Paragon paints until I googled Myford Green Paint. I am now completely converted it is the best enamel paint I have ever used.

Advantages: Easy to use and covers well plus doesn't smell much, dries quite quickly with no brush marks, and looks like it has been sprayed on.

Disadvantages: Absolutely none.

Excellent friendly service and super quick delivery. Not tried product yet but looks and smells like the kosher original Hammerite and not the ‘direct to rust’ imitation. Only reason for not giving 5* is that I can’t agree it looks green despite being called so. More like blue or at least turquoise.

Amazing stuff, tried all sorts to get liquid plastic/rubber off my skin this stuff dealt with it brilliantly.

Hi, bought this paint to match the interior of my 1972 ex Newcastle Corporation Leyland Atlantan double decker bus. Haven’t used yet but tried on a test piece and looks promising.
